questions about Salvage Kits and Identification kit for? - Guild Wars Forums

Hi,

I bought these two kits and as i see that Salavage kits has 25 uses. Is that true the salvage kit suppose to salvage any items to raw materials? But how do i tell which item i want to salvage? I found out that when i double click the kit and it will just salvage anyone of my item. Is anway i can select it by myself. What do i use with the raw materials?

I found out that when i double click the identication kit, it will randomly pick anyone of my Unidentify item. Is anyway i can select it by myself?

you need to double click the salvage kit in your inventory and then move the cursor over the item you want to salvage also the identification kit should be used efore you salvage your items if the item has a different color like bule purple or gold when you pick those items up it will say unidentified and you need to use that id kit on them first if the item comes up as a rune or weapon upgrade you need to use an expert salvage kit which you'll get a little later in the game from the merchants in some of the other towns so i would suggest just putting them into your storage hope that helps

Is that mean those Unidentified items could be a rare item once is identified?
I also picked up some known item like hammer, sword etc but says unidentified?

you never know what it is until you identify it if it says unknown anywhere in the item description use the id kit on it sometimes it will say highly salvageable which means it will yield a higher than normal amount of raw materials when you use a salvage kit on it, some things say precious which you can sell to a merchant for a higher value, some items have upgrades that are unlocked when you use the id kit which you need an expert salvage kit to get those items, and finally some weapons will just come up with things like +10% vs elemental attacks Etc. yu never know but whenever you get an item thats blue purple or gold use the id kit on it
